Dr. Travis Bias is a board-certified family medicine physician. Dr. Travis has found that once his patients have stable health, he can keep them healthy through regular checkups with open communication.
Dr. Travis hikes, lifts weights, and runs several times a week to stay in shape. He played NCAA Division 3 tennis, was an all-conference singles player his senior year, and was ranked #34 in Texas at age 18. He increased his yoga practice while living in Africa and still enjoys its positive impact on mental health.
He is a frequent traveler who has been to 35 different countries. He cultivated his love for travel medicine and interest in tropical medicine through several trips, studying, working, and teaching in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya. He earned his Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene and performing pre-travel consultations is one of his favorite parts of his practice.
After moving to California, he started following a pescatarian diet and has been maintaining it for the last five years. He generally suggests his patients follow dietary principles, such as plant-based or calorie-counting, rather than strict diets that may be difficult to maintain.
Dr. Travis graduated medical school from the University of North Texas and completed his residency at Memorial Family Medicine in Sugar Land, Texas.
