Your Personal Doctor, Online. A Triathlete Like You.

We are proud to introduce a completely new approach to medical care.

In the same way online coaches work with their athletes, there is now a way for doctors to play an intricate role in the improvement of their patients’ health.

Dr. Westerfield and Dr. Roberts are only accepting a limited number of patients online. You’ll get the attention you deserve from your doctor. The time to ask questions, be heard, and feel comfortable. Securely text them anytime for a quick answer. Appointments over phone and video chat.

Welcome to true preventative care, tailored individually for you by a doctor who understands your lifestyle.

Let’s do this – reserve your spot now!

Why Are We Doing This?

To provide better care for our patients.

Our healthcare system is broken. The typical primary care doctor has between 2,000 and 5,000 patients. Seriously. That’s not a typo. The average patient visit? 15 minutes. You find a doctor, make an appointment (sometimes several weeks out), drive to the doctor’s office, wait in the waiting room, wait in the exam room, finally see the doctor, have a short visit, leave, drive home. Hope that you’re billed fairly / correctly.

The moment the doctor sees you is the first moment he thinks about you.  And the moment you leave he stops thinking about you. Why? He needs to see about 30 patients per day to meet his quota / make a decent living.

And what if you have a follow-up question? What if you forgot to ask something? What if something happens a few days later?

We are proud to be pioneering a completely new model of primary care.  With modern technology, we can focus on a limited number of patients, anywhere in the world, and provide really great care. We can be your health partner for the long-term, in the same way that you might have an accountant or financial advisor.

We’re starting by doing this ourselves personally. Next, we hope to expand this across the country with the participation of many other doctors.  We think we can realistically improve healthcare in this country in a way that is actually achievable today without massive healthcare reform. An improvement that would provide better care for most Americans: online anytime with the same doctor, in-person when you need it (via the current system of 15 minute appointments with a doctor that doesn’t know you, wasted time in waiting room, little follow up, frustration with health insurance).

How’s This Going To Work?

1) Reserve Your Spot

Provide your info and put your credit card on file. When we’re ready to take you on as a patient, we’ll let you know. Your credit card won’t be charged until after you’ve had your first online appointment with us.

2) Have Your First Appointment

We’ll spend about an hour talking via two-way video chat.  We’ll carefully review all of your medical history, family history, and more. You’ll share and discuss all of your medical questions and concerns. You’ll go into detail about your triathlon training, competition schedule, diet, exercise, sleep, work, and the other important parts of your life. Our aim will be to really get to know you, like a doctor friend. Together we’ll develop a plan to monitor and manage your health, including, if appropriate, using connected devices (weight scales, blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar) and apps (MyFitnessPal, Fitbit, Runkeeper, Strava, StrongLifts, Strong and more).

3) Have a Doctor “At-Hand” Who Really Knows You

Text them anytime with any medical question or concern. Schedule a phone call or video chat.  They’ll instantly receive the health data that you share with them, including weight, blood sugar, blood pressure, diet, lifting stats, and other output from connected devices and apps that you may use.  If you have a medical issue, they will be there to talk with you, assess the situation, listen to your concerns, and oversee and monitor your care.  If needed, they will help you find the right specialist in your area, brief that specialist on your situation, set you up with an appointment, and review the results with you.

4) All Your Records and Activity in One Place, Online

We will also retrieve your health records from past doctors and hospitals (with your permission, of course).

When Will You Start Taking Patients Online?

We’ve already started! We’re taking on just a small number of patients each week and we’re ramping up slowly and carefully. After you reserve your spot, we can give you a better sense of when we can have our first appointment together.

How Much Will This Cost?

SteadyMD is $99 per month for a twelve-month membership. There are no additional fees or co-pays.

There is no risk and no long-term commitment required to get started. You may cancel anytime within the first month and you will only be billed for that one month.

This gives you the opportunity to have your first appointment with your SteadyMD doctor, get comfortable with them, and ensure that they are a good fit for you.

All memberships include unlimited text messaging, same-day phone call appointments, and same-day video chat appointments.

Why An Annual Membership?

The annual membership allows our doctors to serve a limited number of patients and have significantly more time to dedicate to each patient. Our doctors have more time to think about you and develop a personal relationship with you.

Will My Health Insurance Pay The Membership Fee?

No. Insurance companies don’t yet reimburse for this type of service. Plus, we really like the idea of having a more direct economic relationship between you, the patient, and us, the doctors, without all of the typical complications.

Does This Replace My Health Insurance?

No. You’ll still want to keep your health insurance (for seeing specialists, for catastrophic events, for labs, etc.). We may refer you, if needed, to get lab tests done or to a specialist in your area to be seen in-person. You would want to run that visit through your insurance.

Some patients may choose to downgrade their health insurance plan (e.g. from Blue Shield Gold to Silver) and augment their plan with my service. In many cases, you can save money and (in our opinion) get better care.

How Does This Compare to Other Concierge Doctor Services?

Most traditional concierge doctors charge between $2,000 and $5,000 per year and are setup to see patients in-person at their office. Our service is much more affordable and I am fully-geared to efficiently communicate with you regularly via phone, text, and video chat. Also, we can continuously monitor your diet, exercise, and vital body measurements. And, of course, we can take patients anywhere in the country!

What is SteadyMD?

SteadyMD is a company we’ve partnered with to design this service and bring it to our patients. We’re really excited about it. We’ve got a team of people behind-me working on this and improving it every day!

Is This Safe and Private?

Yes. The entire SteadyMD system we are using is secure and HIPAA compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) to ensure that your communication with us remains a private matter between us. Your information is stored on secure servers and we take every measure to ensure your privacy and the safety of your data.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Within the first 30 days, if you decide that the service is not for you, you may cancel your annual membership. You will only be charged for one month.
