Dr. Alec Weir, M.D. is a primary care physician who is board-certified in emergency medicine. He is also certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine. He uses a personalized and proactive approach to ensure his patients stay healthy long-term. Dr. Alec has a balanced and open-minded approach to medicine and believes in providing healthcare options that align with his patients’ goals, comfort, and experience.
Dr. Alec leads a very active lifestyle. He has been doing functional fitness, powerlifting, and bodybuilding for five years and started doing CrossFit last year. He has been practicing yoga for ten years and strongly believes that wellness begins with flexibility. At age 13, Dr. Alec was a national champion snowboarder and still rides recreationally.
Dr. Alec is the father of a four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. He has traveled to every major continent and hopes to get to Antarctica someday. He is heavily involved with the police, being a Special Deputy with the Sheriff’s Department and a SWAT team medical operator.
He supports his patients who follow a wide variety of diets by providing them with custom dietary programs. These incorporate comfort, cooking, cost, and more to ensure his patients will continue to follow them. Also, he is experienced in using macronutrient-based programming for individual clients based on body composition analysis.
He graduated from Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, MI and completed his emergency medicine residency at the Univerity of Texas Southwestern.
