About Dr. Daniel Hodge

Dr. Daniel Hodge, M.D. is a primary care physician and internist with 7 years of experience. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and obesity medicine and has expertise in chronic disease management, medical weight loss, and urgent care.

Dr. Dan stays active by weightlifting, running 20-30 miles a week, cycling, and training for triathlons. He played D3 college basketball and is in his high school’s hall of fame after being a 1,000+ point scorer. Dr. Hodge also practices “dad fitness,” which is his term for finding creative ways to exercise while balancing a busy lifestyle with two young children.

Dr. Dan is active duty in the United States Navy, stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, and was recently selected to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He worked to create the first metabolic obesity clinic with weight loss strategies for active duty military and has spoken at the Obesity Cared Advocacy Network.

He recommends Paleo and keto diets to his patients with insulin resistance and knows how a low-carb lifestyle can improve overall health and weight management.

Dr. Dan enjoys focusing on improving his patients’ health through fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle. He also loves having the opportunity to practice with SteadyMD because it allows for timely access to high-quality primary care.

Dr. Dan graduated medical school from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center – the military’s flagship medical training facility.
